PETS

Dogs are very much welcome and have plenty of private outdoor space for their exercise and adventure. Your furry family member can be accommodated overnight with dog beds, biscuits, bowls, drying towel, can openers etc. which are also provided for your use.

Please Note: Highbrighton is a working farm and guests are reminded to keep watch of their children for the natural hazards which exist on a farm, taking note of any warning signs around the property and grounds. Please be aware we also have dogs and livestock on the farm

The Carriage House

The Carriage House is a spacious two-bedroom loft apartment located on the second floor of a building near the manor house. It features a tastefully appointed master bedroom and guest bedroom with two single beds. Thoughtfully decorated with spacious open plan living area, a full kitchen and dining area. With its cathedral ceiling and natural light, the bathroom features a large antique tub and glass shower. Sundowners or an early morning breakfast can be enjoyed on the patio. The Carriage House is perfect for a retreat for those looking to get away from it all.

The Cottage at Toms Road

The Cottage at Toms Road was home to the Farm Manager’s family for generations. Now completely refurbished, it is perfect for families or guests looking to stay longer at Highbrighton. The Cottage features a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and waterfall shower. There are two smaller guest rooms, both graciously appointed and welcoming. A large living area and dining room with an open plan, fully-equipped, modern kitchen complete the house.

Privacy is key at The Cottage at Tom’s Road. It is located on its own separate twenty-acre plot of land attached to the estate. Guests can enjoy the amenities of Highbrighton yet feel as if they are in their own home in the rural countryside of Virginia. There are miles of trails to walk with the surrounding woodlands teeming with wildlife and other indigenous flora and fauna.

The Pool House

The Pool House is a two-story brick house and is a historic registered landmark. It is not regularly available for rent, but is enjoyed by the owner, his family, and the guests of the Carriage House and Cottage. The first floor features an open-plan library with billiard table and a wood burning fireplace perfect for taking the chill out of an autumn night. There is also a bar area with small kitchenette and guest bathroom. The second floor has a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom replete with a steam/sauna shower. There is a guest bedroom also with an en-suite bathroom. The Pool House has a gracious porch which is perfect for having cocktails or casual dinners while facing the estate’s forty-five-foot lap pool which is open in the spring and summer. A house for all seasons, guests will enjoy the elegance of the Pool House.

The Cabin

Our historic cabin (circa 1780) is located high on a hill at the estate, offering solitude and unparalleled views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. While not available for overnight accommodations, it is a quaint spot to visit while exploring the property. In keeping with the call of the wild, the cabin also features a traditional outhouse.
