Robert is the owner of Highbrighton. He is the founder and managing director of Redding Consultants. He served on the board of J. Rigby & Co. and now as the American director of J. Roberts and Son. He has over 35 years of wing shooting and big game hunting experience around the world. Robert is ever one to share a story of his early hunting days on some far-flung adventure around the globe.
Marge and Ron have been part of the Highbrighton Sporting Team for almost 25 years. They operate a breeding kennel where they have been raising Labrador for 35 years. Their goal has always been of raising healthy, intelligent dogs who are active on land and in the water. active. Says Marge, “Labs are such amazing dogs and we feel lucky to be involved with them.”
John has been a part of the Highbrighton shoots for many years. He owns Apsley Kennels in Sperryville Virginia. An avid bird hunter himself, John provides training for both dog and handler for those customers who shoot either walked up or driven game. Since arriving in the United States, John’s ability to work six dogs on different retrieves simultaneously ensures that he and his dogs are in high demand on the finest pheasant release and tower shoots from New Jersey to Virginia. Over the years John’s passion for training, working, breeding, and competing with his dogs have resulted in consistent awards in both Field Trials and Working Tests in his native England.
Gay Beery is chef/owner of A Pimento Catering, which she took over in 1999. Her enthusiasm and dedication to the agricultural ideals of the Piedmont has had a lasting influence on local professionals in Charlottesville.
